Chainmaille

This jewellery is handmade in an ancient technique, from the Viking age.

Silver thread is woven so it becomes a spiral with a diameter in proportion to the pattern. The spiral is then sawn up, ring for ring, and the rings are mounted into the finished jewellery. All of this is done by hand. At the end the jewellery is polished to remove sawdust and to give the jewellery a smooth shine.
